| | | October 27, 2008 | | Software company gains insight into their customer density, refines marketing. | Like many companies, MINDBODY sells software to small and medium-sized businesses. As the 59th strongest software company on the INC 5000, a list of growing entrepreneurial companies published annually by INC Magazine, MINDBODY is a testament to innovation in a particular market niche.
Today, MINDBODY uses AWhere to plot the location of all their customers, in order to more carefully target their marketing outreach, and therefore increasing the effetiveness of each marketing investment.
"We map our [existing and prospective] customers to see how close they are to the tradeshows we attend, and also map our customer base against our sales reps. Being able to see everyone on the map really helps our analysis, and also creates a WOW factor for our clients," said marketer Danielle Murphy.
"When we first looked at our business, we realized that we were not only seeing a map of our customers, but also of the communities of practice where wellness is thriving. Originally, we had not thought about Austin, but when we looked at a map, we realized it was a great place to focus," added Nicole Broussard, who focuses on strategic partnerships for MINDBODY.
Bob Murphy, MINDBODY's executive for Sales, Marketing and Finance, inspires his team to adopt evolving technology and stay open to new ideas says of AWhere, "I was surprised by the dearth of options in this space. Those big companies overshoot my needs and budget. After I downloaded the free trial and could see on the screen something I had only known intuitively, I realized we needed to find a way to share that with our clients [yoga studios and other wellness practices). Just like us, they need to better understand their current and future clientele, and need more effective ways to find new clients."
So, although many of our large corporate customers choose to stay cloaked, and to revel in an invisible competitive advantage, we are finding new applications of AWhere as early adopters build their own location intelligence.
